QUILTED WEDGE SAMPLER CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Fabric Requirements
To complete the quilt top you will need 35 full and 10 half wedges.
You will get 6 or 7 full wedges from a 10 ½” (approx. 30cm) piece of 43in wide fabric.
- Seven 30cm pieces of fabric will yield 42 full wedges
- 1.5m backing fabric (as long as the width is at least 43”/44” wide)
Solids or close to solids work best to showcase your quilting.
NOTE: It is up to you how you make up your quilt top. Choose a large variety of colours or keep it simple with two colours only.
Other Requirements
- General sewing supplies, pins and scissors
- Machine needles – bring a variety of types and sizes depending on what threads you are using.
- Water soluble marking pens or pencils
- Threads (see below)
- Quilting gloves
- Couple of small quilt sandwiches for practice pieces (approx 12in square)
Threads On the coloured sampler Rachelle used a very light grey across the whole quilt. Bring along as few or as many threads as you would like to play with, these can be cotton, polyester, rayon and different weights from 28wt to very fine.
Optional Extras- Thread stand
- Quilting rulers (whatever you would like to play with, Rachelle will be demonstrating some very basic shapes and will have some for you to borrow)
