MARINA LANDI, BRAZIL
A Brazilian artist based in São Paulo, Marina Landi holds degrees in both engineering and fine arts. After many years working with glass mosaics, she transitioned to quilting, applying the knowledge and techniques from mosaics to her textile practice. For the past 15 years, she has dedicated herself exclusively to quilting, also teaching classes in her unique technique.
Her work is primarily figurative, distinguished by bold colours, dramatic use of light and shadow, and an emphasis on creating depth and texture. When portraying human figures, she focuses particularly on the expression of the eyes. To achieve the precise hues required for each piece, she dyes her own fabrics.
Her artistry has been recognised internationally, earning her more than 15 awards at prestigious festivals including Paducah and Houston.
